Developing for Drupal
This website and our flagship GoNellGo.com run Drupal. We don't run Drupal just because Sony/BMG's MyPlay, Popular Science, and US Weekly run it, although what a set of endorsements!
No, we run Drupal because it is an absolute joy.
Right now we're working on a Chinese text annotator. We'll give you a full update on that when it's released in late August. For now, let's just say that instead of translating Chinese into mangled English, we want to help you dive into Chinese and actually learn its meaning.
"Wow, sounds like a tall order," you might think. Well, it isn't easy, but imagine how much harder it would be if we also had to worry about managing user access permissions, storing performance analytics, and all the other overhead that a professional feature rollout requires! Cue Drupal.
Drupal provides us with a framework within which we can place our new features. So during our code sprint last week we got to focus on the fun part-- solving the actual problem. We prepared a quick Drupal module framework from an on-hand skeleton, and within 3 days we had a rudimentary annotator-- plug in some Chinese and get back that text tagged with dictionary entries and lists of the most important words and characters in the text.
Wow! 3 days. Think of what Drupal could do to solve your problems! Drop us a note, and we'd be happy to help.
